W.W. Young's 1915 silent film edition of ALICE IN WONDERLAND. is of the earliest cinematic retellings of Lewis Carroll’s beloved tale.

Though modest in production, this 42-minute masterpiece captures the spirit of Carroll’s fantastical narrative. The inventive visuals and a charmingly theatrical style create a movie both fantastical and quaint.

The film follows young Alice as she ventures down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. There she encounters iconic characters such as the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and the White Rabbit.
